Kline's $ To Company That Pays Anonymous Blogger's Salary?

Over the past two years, John Kline's campaign paid $10,000 to Weber Johnson PA, a political consulting firm run by the brother of former Republican Congressman Vin Weber. Oddly enough, the source of many anonymous attacks on Kline's opponent Coleen Rowley have come from a blogger who is employed by Weber Johnson PA.

See the Kline payment records here, here and here.

The payments did not come while the then anonymous blogger was on Weber Johnson's payroll. At the time of the payments the blogger was on the payroll of the Republican Party.

Is Kline behind the anonymous blogger's attacks on Coleen? If not, is John Kline going to continue to do business with a firm that employs people who launch anonymous attacks?

You morons should be embarrassed. Go back to playing with your toys and leave the blogging to the grown ups.

Mr. Brodkorb doth protest too much. He is correct that Joe Weber is the brother of Vin Weber, the name of his employer is Weber Johnson PA, not Weber and Johnson. So we've corrected the post to reflect that.

However, the facts are still these: Weber Johnson PA lists John Kline on its website as a client. Just go to the clients section and click on Rep. Kline's smiling face (You'll also find Sen. Norm Coleman and Gov. Pawlenty pictured as clients...which could explain more of Mr. Brodkorb's previously anonymous attacks.) On his blog Mr. Brodkorb goes to great lengths to try and discredit this information. While Mr. Brodkorb's loud yellow font is repetitive, the truth is money went from Kline to Brodkorb's current employer.

And we'll note Mr. Brodkorb avoided denying that John Kline has EVER been a client of Weber Johnson, just that he is not a CURRENT client of Weber Johnson. Mr. Brodkorb also says (several times... I guess repeating it makes it more true) that Rep. Kline did not pay $10,000 to Weber Johnson. The records show Rep. John Kline's campaign paid $10,000 to Joe Weber - he's the "Weber" part of Weber Johnson.

Now if the money wasn't paid to Weber Johnson, why do they list Rep. Kline as a client?

Finally, is Mr. Brodkorb suggesting we leave the blogging to the professional (paid) bloggers?

John Kline has never been a client of Weber Johnson. He was a client to Joe Weber before he started Weber Johnson.

I would leave the blogging to people who can get tha facts straight.

I also noticed that you didn't respond to my comment about being anonymous bloggers who attack people for blogging anonymously.

And that brings us back to the orignal question for Rep. Kline -- is he going to hire a company that employs people who make anonymous attacks? It's a fair question since Joe Weber obviously views the Kline connection as a source of pride.

Just because Mr. Brodkorb is no longer anonymous doesn't change the fact that he made anonymous attacks on Coleen Rowley. Bringing Weber Johnson PA (and their employee Mr. Brodkorb) into the 2006 Kline campaign would do even more to discredit Rep. Kline's reputation.
